Coming home to Jasper County

So some of you may not yet know, but I’m in the process of moving.   My honey and I have chosen Jasper County as our new home.   We are so excited because it affords us the rural living we desire with close proximity to the coast and the beaches, and also to beautiful, historic Savannah and to his job at Gulfstream.

Not to mention, the future ports.  Have you heard about that?   Yes,  the Jasper Ports are being developed on the SC side of the Savannah River in conjunction with GA authorities, to accommodate the much larger cargo ships that currently can’t traverse under the Savannah Talamadge bridge, along with increased commerce that will put the current Savannah ports at maximum capacity soon.

The proximity of the area to I-95, coupled with existing CSX railroad lines make this location ideal for development of the proposed business parks along with the commerce being transported from the ports.

RiverPort Business Park is expected to positively impact Jasper County by potentially adding 7,500 jobs and increasing annual personal income by up to $210 million, and the overall investment in RiverPort could reach in excess of $875 million.  The projected economic benefit created by RiverPort will allow Jasper County to capitalize on growth in Savannah and Hilton Head and the nearby port.
Economic Impact

Factoring in the proposed new exit 3 off I-95 and the upgrades of highway 17, you can understand that the future for the area is quite bright.  Some of those reasons, I’m sure factored into the new Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville community choosing to locate in Jasper County as well.

And the area is beautiful.  I love the lowcountry land, the old historic plantations and the dirt roads that leave me feeling like Scarlet O’Hara going back in time.   And the quaint towns of Hardeeville and Ridgeland are poised for opportunity and change, while also working to preserve their historic charm .

We actually were blessed to find a Barn-home below, down the dirt road pictured above, in the Levy-Limehouse area within just a few minutes to the future ports.

Yes, it’s totally me if you know my love for all things equestrian.   I’m blessed to have the opportunity to live here soon with my love, but I’ll give you a heads up….   The secret is out about Jasper County, because we had to get in a bit of a bidding war to win the deal on this property.   While we still managed to obtain it for well less than $200K, I don’t expect opportunities like this to come along much longer.

It really is the “Amazon of Real Estate.”

Also, eXp Realty equips me with the tools and technology to succeed at my job.  I’m personally given 2 Kunversion sites (due to being in 2 MLS’s) and a CINC site to market to buyers and sell my listings.  Just one Kunversion site would cost an agent nearly $400 per month to purchase!  I’m also given access to Breakthrough Broker for my marketing materials, and  I have a Real Satisfied account that surveys my clients upon closing to get feedback on my services.   I have numerous files that are shared with me thru the Google Drive and GMail system that eXp hosts.   We also use ZipForms and Skyslope for digital contract availability and storage.  And these tools just scratch the surface of what all I’m offered.    I am truly a mobile agent, able to work from anywhere there is internet service.

One particular example of how beneficial that can be is when we had Hurricane Matthew hit our area in October of 2016.   I never had to worry about leaving an office behind.  All my files are in a secure cloud environment, with access from my laptop and phone, and I never missed a beat with serving my clients, past and present; even checking on properties owned by out of state owners upon my return using the tools I’ve been taught.

And I have staff support that is amazing.  I firmly believe I have the best Broker-in-Charge in the world, Jim Girard.   He is so professional and helpful, and the “most available” BIC I’ve ever known.   He uses tools like Voxer, the Virtual World,  to teach classes, and Facebook groups to keep us constantly informed, educated and supported.  So much better than that TL or BIC, that locks themselves in an office all day trying to ignore my questions.   And then there are the all of the technical and transaction staff in eXp World, that are always there waiting to help me.   So much better than that one admin who is overwhelmed doing paperwork in that office you have to drive to, that doesn’t have time to help you answer your questions.   This model rocks!

We now have over 4000 agents available across the country to refer to.   So nearly no matter where you go, I gotcha covered.  I’ve met with many of them “personally in the cloud” and they are great!  We mastermind without the expense of travelling to a conference or camp, on a regular basis. The culture is fantastic!

And last but certainly not least,  I have the opportunity to help others.  I don’t call it “recruiting.”   But I feel like the eXp real estate model addresses things for a lot of agents that other firms don’t.   We have a true mentorship program for new agents.   Sponsors support those in their downline.   And I love that I can make my own life better by helping others thru sharing my experience, encouragement, and knowledge.   And they reinvigorate me as well when they get excited about how exp is different.   It really is so much better than any other professional experience I’ve had.

As an empty nester, I miss the days of ole, watching my children play on the beach.   This moment watching another family visiting Hilton Head Island recently, brought back so many memories of years visiting here with my own family.

The city of Hardeeville is one of the fastest growing cities in the state of South Carolina. The trend will hopefully continue with the announcement of a new development being built along highway 278. Minto Communities and Margaritaville Holdings announced their second Latitude Margaritaville location today. It will be built in the city of Hardeeville on Highway 278, two and a half miles east of I-95.

The active adult residential community will feature homes built for the 55-and better community with a “no worries” tropical vibe of Margaritaville. The 2,739-acre community will include a 72-acres site for 290,000-square foot Margaritaville-inspired festive retail center.
